Sunday, March 26, 12 p.m.. - Pickles & Preserves
Spend the afternoon with Aaron Dinwoodie of Feral Heart Farm learning to make preserves and pickles with local organic produce. You'll learn about lacto ferments, making a kraut or two, a refrigerator pickle, and some hot water bath canning. Aaron has been preserving the produce they grow here locally in the Bay Area and in Sunol for twelve years, and has a talent for sharing that connection between soil and plate. Come join us and learn preserve local, organic beets, carrots, radishes, turnips and veggies of all kinds, in all sorts of ways.
We'll provide aprons and all the needed materials. You'll go home with several jars of your pickles and preserves, plenty of recipes and the knowledge and skills to make some more of your own at home!
